Cute on the outside. Accounting underneath.
Built by an accountant, around the things an accounting system has to get right.

Balanced journal entries, a continuous accounting record, reconciliations, and financial statements. The fundamentals stay fundamental.
Book-scoped permissions, explicit posting authority, and connections you can revoke. You decide how much help to let in.
See the receipt, the reasoning, and who did what. The accounting record lives beyond any one agent or conversation.

Built out of a real need
I started building apps with AI, and ended up with businesses to run and books to keep. So I built LedgerBug. Over time, I realized my personal agents could do much of the work around the accounting. LedgerBug just needed to be a really good home for the data.
That’s the idea: pair the agents you like working with and a subject you care about. For me, that’s accounting. This is what came out of it.
LedgerBug is the home for your accounting data. The personal agents you already use can connect to it, work on the books, and bring you answers. The ledger keeps the record, even when the conversation moves on.
Yes. Switch between your businesses in one workspace. Each business keeps its own books, transactions, and reports, and you choose which books each agent can access.
You choose. Start with read and propose access, so an agent prepares the work for your review. You can explicitly grant routine-posting authority separately. You can inspect activity or revoke a connection at any time.
No. You can import transactions from a file. Bank feeds are optional and depend on the integrations available in your deployment.

That’s the goal, and work is in progress. We’re preparing the source release and setup instructions for self-hosting. The source repository is still private until that release is ready.
